C. Quality of Story: Episode Length and Extra-Long
Do the individual stories connect? Does each episode stand alone yet also fit into the whole? Are the characters worthy of 12+ parts (12+ hours)? Were the stories thought-provoking, suspenseful, fitting for the concept, interesting, etc.? Consider the "series aspect" of the storytelling.
0=No quality/Awful. How did this get approved?
1=Poor/Probably not worth another season
2=Fair
3=Good/Refreshing and captivating
4=Excellent/Can't wait for the next season!
Third, add up the points so far to determine the Drama Series Quality Score (DSQ).
Drama Series Quality Scales Total (Sum of Scales A, B, & C)
0-4 = Dry Toast (Poor)
5-9 = Glazed Doughnut (Good)
10-12 = Triple Layer Cake (Amazing)
Fourth, determine your personal reaction and interest in the show’s SEASON on two separate scales. This may not have anything to do with the Series Quality scales. In other words, these answers are subjective, your opinion, and naturally biased.
D. Personal Reaction - to the whole season
Consider the entire season & how the episodes connected (or did not). Did the season do whatever you deem important for that type of program? Were you impressed? Did you look forward to the next episode? Were individual episodes like puzzle pieces or did they stand alone?
0 = No reaction/Hated it
1 = Little reaction/Didn't like it
2 = Reacted/Liked it
3 = Good Reaction/Enjoyed it
4 = Great Reaction/Loved it
E. Personal Likelihood of Re-viewing - the whole season
Whether you'd re-watch the season and/or stay tuned for a new one may say more about your reaction and tastes than answering any other kind of question.
0 = None/I'd never watch it again, not even a new season
1 = Slim
2 = Possible
3 = Likely
4 = Very Likely
Finally, Sixth, add up the points of this second set of scales to determine the Series Personal Score (SP)
Series Personal Scales Total (Sum of Scales D & E)
0-3 = Acorn: I don't want to eat that, leave it for the squirrels (Poor)
4-6 = Peanut: Good but abundant, would be better mixed or spiced up (Good)
7-8 = Pistachio: Addictively delicious & good for you (Amazing)

HOORAY! You now have several ways of reading/recording this information:
1. Just use the numbers:
Series Quality Score (DSQ) = _/12 & Series Personal Score (SP) = _/8
Note: Don't combine the scores because this places less emphasis on your personal score.
2. Use the label chart:
On this blog I will use both numbers (the complete breakdown included) and labels.
