Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. I had been looking forward to watching this film for a long time and was completely floored by the exceptional writing. Jordan Peele has blown everyone away with his debut. There is far too much to comment about--this movie is a film student's dream to write about--so instead I link you to a very well-written review which captures my sentiments.

Ultimately, watch this film. Even if you don't like horror or thrills. It has amazing writing, important social commentary, crazy/weird moments, and is just overall great.

Animation, Pirates, Fantasy, Coming of Age

I didn't have any expectations about this made-for-TV film, but it wasn't for me. I wasn't particularly thrilled about any aspect of it: The story wasn't very gripping, the animation style wasn't new, the voice acting was a little irritating at times. It wasn't a waste of time, but it could have been much better. I enjoy stories about pirates so hoping there will be more in future.
